Dan Barninger
Quartermaster - Air Force

Master Sergeant Daniel C. Barninger served as the First Sergeant for the 910th Airlift Wing, Security Forces Squadron Youngstown Air Reserve Station, OH. He provides the Unit Commander a mission ready force to execute the unit mission. While monitoring the morale of the squadron - "esprit de corps”, he helps enlisted personnel adapt to military environment and duty assignments while adjusting to the organization. He supervises administrative actions directed by the Commander while developing and executing specific goals, plans, and objectives to address issues related to unit members. While holding membership in the First Sergeant's Council he administers First Sergeant Duties within the wing during non-Unit Training Assemblies, providing extraordinary stewardship to all Airman base wide.

Master Sergeant Barninger grew up in Girard, Ohio. From there entered the regular Army in 1978 and re-entered the Air Force Reserve in September 2001. His background consists of unit supply specialist (USA), cargo, ramp, special handling craftsman, and in the special duties as Squadron Safety Representative, Unit Travel Representative and First Sergeant. His assignments include bases in Louisiana, Germany, South Carolina and Ohio.

In 2004, MSgt Barninger deployed in theater to OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM for PAX Satellite Service, rotating to Charleston AB for Air Freight Cargo Service, then Ramstein, AB for Cargo Processing Service. In 2008, he deployed in theater to OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM as PAX Supervisor. In 2010, he deployed in theater to OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM as Inbound PAX Supervisor. Prior to his current position, he served as an aerial porter with the 76 Aerial Port Squadron Youngstown Air Reserve Station, OH.
